It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alfred “Alfie” Becker, who left us on Sunday, January 26, 2025, at the age of 83.
Born on September 27, 1941, in Ostepressen, East Prussia, Germany, Alfie was the son of Albert and Leokadia Becker. His early years were shaped by the difficult times in post-World War II Germany, but he grew into a man of remarkable resilience and strength. Determined to build a better future, Alfie left Europe to pursue a career in the oil industry, a journey that would take him around the world and introduce him to Christina, his future wife. Together, they built a loving home and raised three children: Ivonne, Andy, and Bonnie.
Alfie’s life was defined by his selflessness and dedication to his family. He was a man who always put the needs of others before his own, giving freely of his time, love, and energy. His devotion to his family was evident in everything he did, from the tireless hours of work around the house to the monumental task of moving his family from Knoxville, Tennessee to Southern California. Making sure his family was well provided for was always the top priority for Alfie.
Alfie’s legacy lives on in his three children, as well as his six grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will remember him for his kindness, generosity, and the way he touched everyone he met.
A man who lived a life of service to those he loved, Alfie will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held at Chapman Funeral Homes, 702 E Chapman Avenue, Orange, CA 92866 on February 21, 2025 @ 11:00 am, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
