It is with great sadness that we tell you, our beautiful sister, Brenda Sue Baker, was called home to our Lord on July 24, 2024, at the age of 67. She was our dearly loved sister, daughter, aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many. Born on May 18, 1957, in historic town of Fort Knox, Kentucky. She was the third child and loving daughter of Wilmont and Gloria Baker and a devoted girlfriend to George Wilson. George was the love of her life and left her to be with the Lord in December 2009.
Brenda had an infectious sense of humor and a talent for finding amusement in the smallest things. Brenda was known for her friendly nature and her love for meeting new people. She cherished social gatherings and always made everyone around her feel welcome. Brenda enjoyed going to church with her sister Rosemary and her great niece and nephew, Camila and Adrian. She brought joy to everyone she met.
In her years, Brenda graduated from La Quinta High School in Westminster, California, marking the beginning of her journey into adulthood. Brenda loved to take the bus and worked for over 40 years at workshops here in Orange County. She was so proud to be one of the trainers on the floor. One of her proudest accomplishments was when she and George secured their first apartment together. Cooking meals and shopping with him brought her immense joy and pride. Brenda treasured her relationship with Georgie - as she loved to call him.
Brenda enjoyed getting dressed up and wearing jewelry and bright colorful clothes - red, pink and purple were some of her favorites. She also enjoyed getting pampered by getting her hair and nails done regularly. She always had flowers painted on her beautifully manicured hands and toe nails.
Among Brenda's favorite pastimes were watching classic TV shows like "I Love Lucy," "General Hospital," "Jeopardy," and "Wheel of Fortune." These shows brought her endless entertainment, and she never missed an episode.
One of Rosemary's fondest memories was Sunday dinners with Brenda at Polly's Pies. Once Brenda won a pie in a raffle, which led to an impromptu and fun gathering at her apartment with neighbors coming over to share slices of pie and create lasting memories together.
Brenda loved pizza and had it delivered to her apartment every Friday, after she was paid. The pizza delivery people knew her so well, they brought her a free pizza on her birthday and also a heart shaped pizza on Valentines Day!
Brenda's presence brightened the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her passing leaves behind a void that can never be filled. As we gather to honor and celebrate Brenda's life at Chapman Funeral Home in Orange, California, on August 13, 2024, at 4:00 PM, let us remember the laughter she shared and the love she gave.
She is survived by her siblings; three brothers, Wilmont Baker, John Baker and Randall Baker and two sisters, Renata Cooley and Rosemary Baker.
Though Brenda may have left this earthly realm, her spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved her. May we find solace in the memories we shared with Brenda Sue Baker as we bid farewell to a remarkable woman whose legacy will endure through time.
